Commercial Underwriter 

Michael Rodriguez brings over 22 years of diverse financial expertise to his role as Commercial Underwriter at New Republic Bank.  Supporting the Charlotte and Roanoke Rapids markets, Michael oversees the full credit lifecycle, from underwriting new opportunities and conducting annual reviews to comprehensive portfolio management.

 

Prior to joining New Republic, Michael’s banking roles include Vice President, Portfolio Manager and Vice President, Commercial Relationship Manager.  During his banking tenure, he has distinguished himself as a trusted advisor to commercial clients, providing guidance in operating company dynamics and complex commercial real estate structures.  His work is pivotal in driving community engagement and economic development within the Charlotte region. 

 

Michael’s background is further distinguished by key positions for 12 years in Wealth Management.  This rare cross-disciplinary background spanning commercial credit, private wealth, and retail operations equips Michael with a holistic perspective that allows him to address the multifaceted needs of New Republic Bank’s clientele.  

 

As a long-time Charlotte resident, Michael pursued his education with an A.A. from Central Piedmont Community College and a focus on General Studies at Arizona State University.  Michael remains deeply committed to his community, currently serving on the boards of the Risk Management Association (Charlotte Chapter), the Mint Museum’s Craft Design and Fashion Advisory Board, and the Farewell to Summer Foundation.
